Photography By Allison Viola

Allison Viola, an upperclassman communications student at Flagler College, uses social media and her love for music to inspire her photography, which is at once moody and vivid, dark and colorful.

For an upcoming project, she swiped an idea from a Korean pop group that created a song based on a rainbow of colors.

“I was like, ‘oh, that'll be cool to do like a photoshoot based off colors,’” Viola says.

Viola has been an avid photographer since she was young.

“I always had photos of the flowers and the sky on my phone. I just loved like taking photos. Finally, my dad's friends were like, ‘hey, here's a camera, let's go out to this park and let's just take photos,’” she recalls. “That kind of started the whole thing of me just loving photography.”

Inspired by a former high school teacher and Flagler alumni, Viola signed up for the arts college upon graduation and has since become the Flagler Photography Club’s historian.

Viola’s style ranges from old Hollywood-themed magazine shoots and nature shots to gun-wielding, spy-inspired projects.

She says her dream is to shoot concerts professionally for bands like Stray Kids, BTS, Metallica and Def Leppard.
